The Scoop on Hormone Doctors

This page is for people that don't suspect thyroid problems, but want to know more and what this stuff is good for. The truth is, a lot. Athletes use it, actors use it, and more and more centers are popping up with reasons to prescribe hormones for all kinds of things.

Sports Medicine for Regular People?

Yes, I think so. I'm no expert and I'm just reporting my own experience through this stuff. But, interestingly enough, the same hormone science athletes used to maximize their performance works for sick people too, or people who want to change things and cut to the chase. My dr seems to have found a good business using both endocrinology and hormones together to fix a lot of stubborn problems. There are not too many places like this one, but they are around in many large cities.

Oh, My Aching Adrenals

I admit to being a dummy and not having this checked even when living for years as a thyroid mess. My drs didn't talk about it or look. Last year I get checked and the missing clue is adrenal failure. Hormones wrecked. They control just about everything. Mine dates back to 1991! Duh.

No one talks about this much. I had a hard time explaining it to people that asked what changed, until supercross started. The riders asked what happened and when I got to the adrenal failure and hormones they go "Oh, cool, you got yer shit checked." Then I get it. They know already.
