Special Note to Family and Friends -

New Gig!

I didn't think I would stop doing the "dream job" of following the world's coolest sport full time, but sometimes things change for the better when you least expect it. Some doors opened this year, and to make a long story short, I went from a fan's dream job to an engineer's dream job. This month, I started working at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Huntsville, AL full time as a Senior Systems Engineer.

I'm working on a special project on the Ares 1 rocket, which replaces the space shuttle in a few years. Read more about Ares 1 here. This includes some planning work on the overall project, known as Constellation. Read more on Constellation here. The Constellation rockets are the next generation after the shuttle and are to move crew and material to the space station, moon, and whatever.

I'm new to this stuff so I don't know how much you can go around posting on line, but that much is OK I'm sure. It's a great opportunity to work with some remarkable people, and its part of a project that's doing something for the country, which is even cooler. I have an office at MSFC in the same building the Saturn V engineers worked in, so there is history in halls at the same time people are planning the next generation of space travel. It's the coolest!

What Happens to Racetime.com?

I for sure want to keep Racetime.com going, since it's the only SXMX place that is really true to the American tradition of liberty and independance from overbearing governance. It will stay open to bloggers and message boarders and we will have a good time! I will get to selected races when I can, and its open to other media as well.
